Questions & Answers
Don’t worry, we know. It can all be very confusing and overwhelming when first delving into the world of CBD so let's break it down simply.
What is CBD exactly?
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a single compound of the Cannabis plant. It has many super powers. In the world of health and wellness it is best known for its anti inflammatory, stress reducing properties.
It is non-toxic, non-psychoactive (unlike THC) and is neuroprotective (protects our big beautiful brains). It works with our endocannabinoid system (ECS) to balance our brain and body, influencing everything from stress levels and sleep to inflammation, pain management and immune function.
The ECS is responsible for maintaining equilibrium and keeping the peace within our body and brain. When the ECS is not functioning properly from a lack or balance of cannabinoids, it shows up and lets us know in a whole host of troubling ways! This can include anxiety, depression, pain, gut issues and to a more hectic extent can show up in various diseases and disorders. This is where the benefit of taking CBD comes in to provide a helping hand in balancing our ECS system and restoring peace *jaw unclench*.
CBD is amazing and can help prevent and fix heaps of stuff to make our lives better. Not to
mention it is completely natural with no nasty side effects.
What are the types of CBD?
Wait, what? There are different types of CBD!?
Yep! There are 3 main types of CBD:
1. CBD isolate: Just pure CBD extract
2. Full Spectrum CBD: The whole cannabis plant including THC (<0.3%)
3. Broad Spectrum CBD: The whole cannabis plant minus THC
Due to a wonderful rule of thumb in the herbal world known as the entourage effect full and broad spectrum CBD are the most effective (and valuable). The entourage effect:
"When plant chemicals are combined (as they naturally occur in the plant), the chemicals work together to produce a therapeutic effect that is greater than the sum of it's parts"
Dr Dani Gordon - The CBD Bible
The whole cannabis plant includes various beneficial plant compounds such as CBN, CBG, CBC, CBC THC that work in synergy to be more effective that just CBD extract (isolate).
Empwr drops and face mask uses high quality Broad Spectrum CBD to ensure the most effective results. We are a THC free company.
How much should I dose?
Dosing CBD is not a "one size fits all" scenario.
We are all unique. Everyone's endocannabinoid system responds differently to CBD. It largely depends on our symptoms, environment, unique human make-up and the time.
For example: If you are on a vacation in Santorini, lounging by an infinity pool, living your best life, your required dosage is going to be less than that of your colleague who is running around the office like a headless chicken with a full inbox whilst covering your work while you're away. They will need a little bit more!
For daily wellness and balance we recommend starting with 30mg - 60mg a day, increasing over time as you find your sweet spot. This can be split up over 1-3 doses depending on what suits your life style best.
Higher doses are recommended if using for inflammatory purpose, sleep and pain management.
Some little gems of wisdom to remember...
* Overdosing on CBD is not a thing
* Keeping a journal on your dosing and tracking your bodies response can be helpful
* You may not feel the effects immediately - for some it can take days or weeks of consistency to build up the cannabinoids in their system
* You can adjust your dose up or down as your stress levels and symptoms ebb and flow naturally with life
How do I dose CBD?
Dosing refers to the regular oral consumption of Botanical Pwr Drops in a measured manner to achieve the desired effect.
Simply squeeze the dropper head to fill the pipette to the chosen measurement. Each pipette is calibrated up to 1ml for easy measuring.
Squeeze the dropper under your tongue and hold for 1-2 minutes to allow for absorption, then swallow the remainder.
Botanical Pwr Drops:
1000mg of CBD in 30ml = 33mg of CBD per full dropper (1ml)
600mg of CBD in 10ml = 60mg of CBD per full dropper (1ml)
Is CBD safe?
CBD is regarded as one of the safest herbal remedies. To date there are absolutely zero reports of overdoses and a very low risk of toxicity.
Cannabis carries with it a negative stigma, being related to marijuana, weed, mary jane, bud whatever you want to call it. The most standout stigma being that it is illegal and will get you high or cause psychotic effects. There is a tremendous sized difference between recreational weed and our broad spectrum CBD.
- Organically grown - no toxic compounds or heavy metals
- Every batch of our oils is lab tested - the lab results will show you what chemical compounds are in the batch of oils
- Our CBD is broad spectrum meaning it is certifiably THC free - there is zero
chance of getting high or even trace amounts of THC floating around in your body
- Cannabis does not carry a risk of physical dependency (addiction)
We are on a mission to erase the negative connotations of cannabis from modern society's subconscious so we can all feel GOOD about feeling GOOD in a safe, legal, non-toxic, and natural way.
